Obituary

Anthony De Santis of Catskill, died at home on October 4, 2018. Anthony reinvented himself in 1980 after growing up in his birthplace of Staten Island. He had always wanted to work with his hands. Despite his father decreeing that that meant being an accountant instead of a lawyer, Tony moved to Catskill NY with his wife, Ruth De Santis and her kids, Guy and Jen Peifer Leroux. They bought Woods Road Campsite, and he began his life as a Campsite-owning, weed-whacking, toilet-pumping, Upstate NY "bon vivant" - charming the ladies, selling the local venues, and chasing out a streaker or two from the pool.

He may have done your tax returns, he may have needed your services or assistance, or he may have been your landlord or your friend. No one who knew Tony didn't appreciate his irreverent sense of humor.

He loved trains, planes, ships, and models of the same, but not as much as he loved his family: Anthony De Santis, Edward DeSantis, his daughter-in-law, Christen Medler DeSantis and all his grandchildren - Miles and William - and his step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, step and extended family. He loved his years of raising Guy and Jen with Ruth, and he always had love for his first wife - sharing a wonderful life-long friendship with Elmire Hammock and her husband J Ralph Hammock. He shared a beautiful third act as well with Linda Macaione - who pushed his boundaries beyond even the continental US.

Last Flight Out - A State Of Mind. We will all miss you very much, Tony. RIP.
