Carrie J. Hartman, 87, of Hillwood La., Catskill passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Livingston Hills Nursing Home.

She was born in Coxsackie, a daughter of the late Peter and Flossie Deamer Shook. Carrie was proud of her Shook family heritage. She loved her home, her family and all her family's dogs including Buddy, Max and Hailey. From the view from under her window, Carrie could enjoy the animals, birds and flowers that graced her yard.

Wife of the late Michael Ragonese, mother of Gloria Jean Fremgen of Catskill and Duane Cole of Syracuse, her granddaughter the late Jeannie Amend sister of Peter Shook, Jr. of NC, Virginia Steinke of Athens and the late Samuel, Claude E. and Manny Shook, Rose Triplett and Barbara Nichols; sister in law of Michael Nichols of Saugerties, Martin Steinke of Athens, and Judy Shook of NC. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Carrie often commented: "No matter what, our family sticks together."

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Hgts., Catskill. A funeral service will then be conducted at 1:00 p.m. followed in interment in Town of Catskill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Columbia Greene Humane Society (contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.)

Memorial Donations Another way to support our needy animals is to make a humane society donation to CGHS/SPCA in memory of a deceased loved one or pet. When a memorial is received, we send a thank you to the donor. We also send a notification to the family of the deceased pet or loved one or to the person being honored without specifying the donation amount.
