Obituary

Dale E. Barkman, 82, of Old Kings Hgwy., Saugerties passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Albany Medical Center.

He was born in Catskill, a son of the late Perry Barkman and Laura Wood. He married Diana Edwards on June 11, 1960.

For over 29 years Dale was an inspector at The Watervliet Arsenal. He retired in 1994. He was a member of the Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church and belonged to the Hudson Valley Old Time Power Association, Hudson. Dale was a member of the Saugerties Fish & Game Club.

Loving husband of Diana E. Barkman, brother of the late Edith Simmons, Perry Barkman, Frieda Stroud, and Ernest Barkman; uncle of Ernest Barkman of Athens, Carol Ruckh of Catskill, Roger Vincent of Catskill and several other nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Hgts., Catskill. A funeral service will then be conducted by Pastor Catherine Schuyler will officiate. Inurnment, in Town of Catskill Cemetery, will be held in the spring.

A cat lover, in Dale's memory, donations may be made to the Columbia – Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Rd., Hudson, NY 12534. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
