Mr. Robinson was born in Catskill on March 23, 1927 to the late George Dewey Robinson and Bertha Webster Robinson. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served during WWII until his discharge in 1946. He was the proprietor of his own heating and plumbing business in Palenville for many years as well as being a member of the Palenville Fire Department and VFW. He was the husband of the late Rita Wendell Robinson who predeceased him in 1959 and the late Lillian Wilkens Robinson who predeceased him in 1994.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Dennis (Dodie) Byrne and Mrs. Tim (Kim) Byrne; son George (Barbara) Robinson; five step-children; eight grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Templeton of Catskill; in addition to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Annabella Early and three brothers: George, Frederick, and Leonard Robinson.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill on Tuesday, June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Private cremation will be conducted at the Albany Rural Crematorium on Wednesday. A committal service will be conducted at the Town of Catskill Cemetery on Friday, June 5 at 1 p.m. Those attending may meet at the funeral home at 12:45 for procession to the cemetery.
