Mrs. Carnright was born in Cementon on January 13, 1925 to the late Filippo and Adalgesa Ascani D'Angelo. She served as Tax Collector, Town Clerk, and bookkeeper for the Town of Catskill for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Rosary Altar Society as well as serving as Eucaristic Minister from 1975 to 2009.
Doris is survived by her husband, Kenneth Alton "Al" Carnright of Catskill and son Kenneth C. Swart and his wife Miriam of Rexford; six grandchildren: Stacey Alcuaz, Stephanie Swart, Timothy (Anne) Dugan, Erin (Dave) Rudd, Meaghan (Patrick) Gould, and Kevin (Ana) Dugan; nine great-grandchildren; brother Giano D'Angelo of Scotia; three nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her first husband Clyde Swart in 1967 and daughter Linda Coblish in 2003.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 30 at 12:30 p.m. in the Catholic Community of St. Patrick in Athens with Father Jim Borstelmann officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick of Catskill Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Hts. in Catskill at 11 a.m. prior to procession to Mass in Athens.
