Edison "Bub" Townley

Edison "Bub" Townley, age 86 formerly of Earlton and West Coxsackie, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Hudson Park in Albany where he had resided for the past year and a half.
Mr. Townley was born in Athens on January 11, 1925 to the late Etsel and Myrtle Kniffen Townley. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was the proprietor of "Bub's Trucking Service" in Earlton prior to being a free-lance trucker until his retirement. He was a member of the Earlton Fire Co., Greene County Volunteer Fireman's Association, Purling Rod and Gun Club, and the VFW in Cairo.
He is survived by his four children: Gail Van Kampen of Coeymans Hollow, Ronald (Jeanne) Townley of Athens, Diane Van Alstyne of Coxsackie, and Mrs. Jack (Lisa) Millett of Purling; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Whittaker, Eugene Van Alstyne, William Van Alstyne, Michael Van Kampen, Joshua Millett, and Cassidy Millett; brother Gerald R. (Betty) Townley of Athens as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Deloris Snyder Townley on September 9, 2009, sister Alberta Fowler, grandson David Townley and sons-in-law Wayne Van Kampen and Eugene Van Alstyne.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill with Rev. Richard Snowden, Pastor of the Community Life Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Town of Catskill Cemetery.
