Mrs. Carlson was born in Athens on September 9, 1921 to the late Warren and Edna Catherine Gonnerman Travis. She married the late Elmer Valentine Carlson on February 2, 1941. She was a life long member of the Leeds Reformed Church, an avid gardener and nature lover.
Mrs. Carlson is survived by her two daughters: Linda Skelley of Delmar, Delaware and Janice Vickers of Athens; four grandchildren: Laurie Vickers, Mark Vickers, Lee Jarman, and Victoria Dravneek; five great-grandchildren: Erin Jarman, Eliot Dravneek, Ethan Dravneek, Emily Anne Hudson, and Andrew Travis Hudson; her sister Albertha Bogert of Athens and brother Alfred Travis; as well as three nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer V. Carlson on August 27, 2001, brother Warren Edward Travis, and sister Mathilda Peck.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16 at 11 a.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill with interment following in the Town of Catskill Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
