Hudson, NY- Long-time resident Jim Cotullas, 76, died of cardiac arrest Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born April 1, 1931 in Bethlehem, PA, he was the only son of the late James P. and Ida Amanda (Kepp) Cotullas. He was a sixth generation direct descendant of Capt. George Nolf, Pennsylvania Militia, who served his country heroically in the American Revolutionary War. Jim served his country also in the NY State National Guard's 645th Ambulance Co. and 134th Medical Battalion. He had been employed by Texile By-Product Corp., Lorbrook Corp and Eden Park Health Services and was a certified automotive mechanic. Jim was appreciated for his playful wit, friendly humor and salty observations on life. He enjoyed many conversations with his neighbors on the patio. His beloved cat "Blackie" was a special delight. He loved fishing, being adventurous and driving classy cars. His older sister, Parie Cotullas Appa, Athens, predeceased him October 2006. Jim is survived by his younger sister Vasilia "Billie" Cotullas Coons, nephew Glenn Coons and his wife Maureen and grandniece Cheyanne Coons, all of Illinois, niece Carol Ann Coons Cohrs, grandniece Amanda Cohrs and grandnephew Daniel Cohrs all of Florida, cousin Carl R. Nicholls of Pennsylvania and nephew Anthony Appa, Jr. and his wife Anna of Massachusetts. Preparations arranged by Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, Catskill, for cremation at Albany Rural Crematorium and internment in the Town of Catskill Cemetery beside his mother. A family memorial service was held at the graveside.
