Obituary

Jane C. Willt, a lifelong Catskill resident, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. She was 90.

She was a daughter of the late Thurlow Harrison and Rebecca Jane Felter Craw. Jane was educated at the Red School House in Jefferson Heights and then graduated from Catskill High School. She received her nursing training, during WW II, as a Senior Cadet Nurse in Alabama and then completed her nursing program at Columbia Memorial Hospital. She worked at the former Greene County Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse from 1946 until retirement in 1980.

A 50-year member of the First Reformed Church, Catskill, Jane was active in their R.C.W. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and a 50-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Jane was a former member of the Catskill Garden Club.

Her loving husband, Harold Herbert Willt died July 21, 1994. One step brother Larry Carey and one step sister Helen Shoemaker both died previously.

Surviving are her daughter Susan Adsit and her husband Charles of Catskill, Thomas Willt and his wife Mary Beth of Catskill; two grandchildren David and his wife Kelli of Catskill and Jeffrey Adsit and his fiancé Chelsea Jones of Long Island; one great granddaughter Serena Grace Adsit of Catskill. Many nieces and nephews survive.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Hts., Catskill. A D.A.R. service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. and an Eastern Star ritual at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will then be conducted at 7:00 p.m. by Pastor Joanna Tipple. Inurnment will be in the Town of Catskill Cemetery in the spring.
