Mr. Trotta was born in Corona, Queens, New York on May 31, 1916 to the late Francesco and Maria Antonia Trotta. He served in the US Army with the 251st Quartermaster Co. during WWII earning the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and WWII Victory Medal. He was co-owner of Mike & Joe's Automotive in Corona, NY until retiring here in 1970. He was a former member of Honeyford Memorial American Legion Post 110.
Mr. Trotta is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Cestaro of Florida; three grandchildren: Robert Cestaro of NC, Michael Cestaro of Florida, and Laura Cestaro of Warwick, NY; three great-granddaughters: Nicole, Samantha, and Caroline Cestaro; his sister-in-law with whom he resided, Jennie Siraco; brother Frank Trotta and sister Antoinette DelVecchio as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Trotta on December 23, 1987 and three brothers: Vincent, Thomas, and Patrick Trotta in addition to his sister Theresa Lacatosa.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill on Thursday, December 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday, December 12 at 1:30 at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, NY.
