Born in Brooklyn
Resided in Catskill, NY
She was born to the late James and Margaret McCarthy Lambert. Kathleen married Hugh Francis McLean on Sept. 1, 1952.
Kathleen attended Bishop McDonald High School, and graduated from St. Joseph's College for Women. Upon graduating, she worked as the College President’s assistant, while earning her Master’s degree from NYU. Next, she served as a NYPD police officer for 8 years. Kathleen later worked as guidance counselor at Sacred Heart/St. Stephens High School in Brooklyn. Her many volunteer interests ranged from former president of Our Lady of Angels Parish Rosary Society, Parish Council VP, Bay Ridge Community Council Board member, Chairing the first 72nd Street city block party, and Community Theater Director for local productions, where she met her husband. For many summers, she enjoyed her camp Program Director role at CYO Day Camp in Coney Island. Her many side businesses included Assertiveness Training Facilitator, craft project instructor, and professional square dance caller, with cowgirl hat, leather fringed jacket, skirt, and of course, cowgirl boots. She inspired us all to be our best selves and to dream big. As her husband would say, "she's quite a gal”. We will miss “our gal” dearly.
