Lila was born in Brooklyn on November 15, 1922 to the late William and Clara Marie Weber Lohr. Following World War II, the family moved to the area where they purchased the White Farm in Freehold. Lila worked for attorney Alex Wiltse for many years as his legal secretary and upon his death, the casket company on Main Street in Catskill owned by Jan Headley. In the late 1960's the family moved to California where she was employed by Marine Engineers Beneficial Association in Los Angeles as an executive secretary to the president for 18 years. She and her husband, Sam Silverman retired to the Seattle area in 1989.
Funeral services were held at the Moles Funeral Home in Ferndale, WA on Tuesday, October 2, 2007.
On Thursday, October 4 friends and relatives may call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill at 10 a.m. prior to funeral services at 11 a.m. with interment following in the Town of Catskill Cemetery.
Lila is survived by her husband, Samuel D. Silverman of Ferndale, WA and three step-children: Penny, Dan, and Rick Silverman; three nephews and niece: Hal, Greg, Noel, and Penny Lohr; in addition to several great-nieces, great-nephews, and step-grandchildren. She was predeceaed by three brothers: William F. Lohr, Edward Lohr, Harold Lohr and sister Ruth Faust as well as their parents William and Clara Lohr.
