Born in Fall River, MA
Resided in Palenville, NY
She was born on 6/30/20 in Fall River where she lived until 1959 when she moved to Catskill with her husband and children. Upon retiring, in 1977, Olga & Tony moved to Florida where they enjoyed the abundance of life’s offerings, including warm feet. Olga lived a full life - raising her family, working, gardening, sewing, quilting, traveling, being a church lady, singing, teaching, playing scrabble, hanging out with her girlfriends and volunteering at the local hospital. She was a good listener and life advisor to those who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Tony “the only”, two grandsons, Courtney and Gary Pereira and their mother Carol Pereira.
She is survived by her son, Courtney Pereira, 3 daughters - Inanna Champagne, Valarie and Wendylee Pereira, her dog Emma, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren & 4 great, great grandchildren and caregivers Debbie & Connie Pat.
Our family would like to thank the agencies and people that worked so hard in assisting our mother during her last years, allowing her to remain at home—Lisa from NHTD, Hospice, Debbie & Connie Pat from Visiting Nursing, “doctor” Diane, our neighbors & many friends, especially The Donna.
And, a giant, loving THANK YOU to my co-workers/fiends at the Workforce Office. I don’t know what my family and I would have done without your patience, compassion and constant support. I will be forever grateful.
A celebration of Olga’s life will be held on Saturday, 1/12/19 at 11:00 at the Gloria Dei Episcopal Church in Palenville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to the Palenville Fire Department P.O. Box 540, Palenville, NY 12463, Att: Blake Garrison.
