Obituary

Richard A. Overbaugh, 72, longtime member of the Catskill Fire Company, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Mt. Sinai Hospital, NYC.

Rich was born in Catskill, a son of the late Percy Clinton and Alice Mae Hoff Overbaugh. He was a graduate of Catskill High School.

He drove tractor-trailer and then worked at the Alpha and later the Lehigh Cement plants. Rich then drove for his nephew at Overbaugh Trucking.

Rich served in the Army National Guard, Spec 5, from 1963-1969.

For 55 years, Rich served with distinction with the Catskill Fire Company. He was Chief for 18 years, and even after, he continued to be extremely dedicated to the fire company. He was always one of the top responders, and a mentor to many.

Surviving are his wife Donna Warner Overbaugh; three sons Kenneth Overbaugh and his wife, Lynn of Somerville, SC, Jonathan Dees and his wife, Kelsee of Catskill and Andrew Overbaugh and his girlfriend, Lauren Melendez of Catskill; one daughter Pam Wright and her husband Richard A. of Catskill; five grandchildren Zeke and Nicholas Overbaugh, Seth, Kyle and Mila Dees; two great grandchildren Aidan and Liam Overbaugh; two brothers Robert Overbaugh and his wife, Christel) of Catskill and Paul Overbaugh and his longtime companion Wanda Dauski of Catskill. Rich is also survived by nephews and his "favorite" niece, Paula DiBiase.

Richie's love and devotion for his family was always his top priority. Richie's family did not only include relatives, but also all the members of the Catskill Fire Company and the CrossPointe Wesleyan Church.

Calling hours will be conducted on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Hgts., Catskill. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Town of Catskill Cemetery.
