Resided in Freehold, New York
Rosemarie was born in Cementon, NY to Giuseppe and Angelina Maurizio, on February 21, 1942. She was one of six children, four sisters, Louise, Lorraine, Helen, and Anna Mae, and brother Nicholas. She resided there during her youth and graduated from Catskill High School. Later she became a resident of Freehold, where she met her devoted husband, John Morgese and raised four loving children, John Anthony Morgese (Karen), Barbara Taylor, Jeanie Isopi (Fred), and Patty Clarino (Neil) who will miss her immensely. And the apples of her eyes she leaves a legacy of nine grandchildren (Frankie, Michael, Robert, Andrew, Kayla, Anthony, Angelina, Nicholas, and Julianna), and a great grandson - Frankie.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister Helen McManus, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosie’s positive attitude fueled her passion for her civic duty. She was a crusader for health care for all. As a driving force behind the Save our Hospital Committee she advocated for healthcare and emergency services to remain in Greene County. She devoted her time as an active member of the Greene County Women's League for over 30 years, having served as an Officer and member of the Board of Directors. To her last days, she continued to meet with civic leaders and work for those who were in need.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Greene County Memorial Hospital and Clark’s Medical Supply, both of Catskill. During her free time, she enjoyed going to the casinos with her friends and sisters, and cooking for her family and friends. As an avid NY Yankee fan, she spent most nights watching her favorite team play ball! Rosie will be cherished and missed by all.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, February 17th from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. followed by a service at 2:30 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. Interment will take place in the Spring at the family plot of St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemarie’s name to the Greene County Women’s League Cancer Patient Aid, PO Box 341, Round Top NY 12473. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
