Sally Deette Cotherman Robbiani, age 56, owner of Clermont Book Store, died at Benedictine Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2007 following a brief illness. Dee will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered.
She was born December 16, 1950 in Palm Beach, FL to Rex B. Cotherman and the late Sarah Fulton Cotherman. Dee received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community, Regional and Environmental Studies from Bard College in 1985. She also graduated from the Masters of Environmental Science program at Bard College in 1994. In 2006 she received her M.A. from SUNY Albany in Information Science. The Cairo Public Library and the Heermance Memorial Library served as her sanctuary to live out her favorite phrase of "so many books and so little time".
Dee's travel adventures, diverse hobbies and friendly spirit are exemplified by her vast circle of friends. Her passion for the environment, knowledge and books live on through her children.
She is survived by her father Rex. B. Cotherman, husband Robert Robbiani, sister Leslie Romanyshyn, brother Rex B. Cotherman III, sister Gerri Lynn Cotherman, brother John Cotherman, son Ray Phillips, daughter Debra Phillips Hazelton and grandson Brandon Phillips.
A memorial service to celebrate Dee's life will be held on Tuesday, August 28th at 8 p.m. in the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill, NY. All are welcome to attend.
