Obituary

Scott Earl Taylor, age 41 of Freehold, died unexpectedly at his home on November 23, 2007 with his wife and children by his side.
He was born on November 30, 1965 in Hudson, the son of George and Rose Simmons Taylor. He graduated from Taconic Hills High School and the NYS Police Academy. He was formerly employed by the Columbia County Sheriff's Department and NYS Park Police and served as Chief of Police in the Village of Philmont. He was currently the Transportation Supervisor for the Cairo-Durham Central School District.
He was a former member of the Philmont Fire Co. and an current active member of the Earlton Fire Co. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Catskill and an active volunteer with the Grapeville Christian Academy.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Jennifer Davis Taylor and their three wonderful children: Mathew, Molly, and Ryan Taylor; six brothers and two sisters and their families; parents: George and Rose Taylor; in-laws: Don and Lynda Davis; brother-in-law Mike Davis and sister-in-law Wendy Davis both of Catskill.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 11 a.m. in the First Reformed Church at 310 Main Street in Catskill with Rev. Michael Zwingleburg, Pastor of the Chatham Reformed Church and Rev. Vicky Eastland, Pastor of the Catskill First Reformed Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Town of Catskill Cemetery East (formerly the Catskill Rural Cemetery). Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Members of the Earlton Fire Co. are requested to attend fraternal services at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor Fund c/o National Bank of Coxsackie 37 Reed Street Coxsackie, NY 12051.
