Resided in Ozona, FL
Susan was born April 30, 1956 in Catskill to Frank and Joan Buoniconto. Raised on a chicken farm with her sisters Patsy and Joanne and her brother Frankie, her love of the mountains and animals began in upstate New York. She attended Adirondack Community College and transferred to University of Florida where she met James Babcock, the father of her daughter, Julia.
She received a BA in Public Health and worked for the Florida State Health Dept. for 2 years. Wanting more flexibility, she got her real estate license and worked for Charlie Earhart Realty, Pinellas Co., FL for most of her career. Her last affiliation was with one of her closest friends, Tom, of Tom Tucker Realty, Pinellas Co., FL.
Susan had a very adventurous spirit, which led her to travel all over the world and make friends wherever she went. She found joy in helping others, lending a hand whenever she was able from teaching children to read, to making people feel welcome and at home. She was a natural athlete all her life and could often be seen walking, biking, rollerblading or playing tennis with friends. She loved the water and was a sailor with Dunedin Windlasses for 17 years, as well as a member of the Tampa Bay Ski Club since 2001.
Susan will be missed by many because of her infectious energy; her open heart and her ability bring others out of their shell without judgement.
On Saturday, September 24th there will be gathering of family and friends at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Hgts., Catskill from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. This follows a memorial service that was held at Unity Church of Palm Harbor on June 25th.
