Mr. Ferretti was born in Cementon on May 3, 1933 to the late Antonio and Teresa Riti Ferretti. He was a graduate of Catskill High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1953, serving with the 1729 Co B First Engineering Component in Germany until February 10, 1955. He married the former Nancy Manning on April 16, 1966 and was an employee of Alpha/Lehigh Cement Co. for 42 years. He was a life member of the Palenville Fire Co. and Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association, member of the former Boehm-Dodd Post 1604 American Legion in Palenville, and faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Palenville. An avid family man and "Lawn boy" of the neighborhood, he will be greatly missed by his family and the community.
Vic is survived by his wife, Nancy Ferretti and their four children: Victor A. Ferretti of Washington, DC, Valarie (James) Gessner of Palenville, Beth Ferretti (Michael Grehl) of Smith's Landing, and Michael (Erika) Ferretti of Palenville; five grandchildren: Jeffrey and Kayla Gessner, Michael Freese, Savannah Ferretti, and Grayson Ferretti; his sister Ann Murray of Hudson as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters: Mary Sturgill, Elizabeth Coons, Emily Stewart, and Jean Sowersby in addition to his brother Peter Ferretti.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 30 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Palenville with interment following in the Palenville Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Palenville Fire Co. at P.O.
